How did you get involved in assisting out of home companies? 

When we opened our training/coaching firm 15 years ago we had already run media companies and their respective sales departments for more than 25 years.  As we began working with our first out of home company shortly after opening our firm, we quickly realized two things…1. The similarities between the media companies we had run and out of home were far greater than we had given much thought to. It was a very natural fit for leveraging our decades of experience.  2. We just found that we liked the out of home owners and their people.  We felt an instant connection.  Because we had such great success working with our first out of home clients they wanted to introduce us to others, who wanted to introduce us to others and so on.

What is the OOH Sales Mastery Class and how can it help out of home companies? 

Frankly, our clients have asked for quite a few years for us to start a Sales Mastery Class that was specifically for OOH.  We were limited to what size companies we could work with us because it was hard to make the financial investment work if they only had 1 or just a handful of sales people in their organization.  When you are talking about independent outdoor owners, that really limited our scope of who it was realistic for us to work with.  However, the new OOH Sales Mastery class format opens up that world class curriculum that is customized for the OOH industry to virtually anyone/any size company all across the US.  I believe at last count we have OOH companies from 26 states in the program.

What’s involved in the class? 

The majority of our out of home clients not only have their people involved in an ongoing Sales Mastery program that focuses on sales skills specific to their industry, but the leaders also participate in a monthly leadership session along with executive coaching.  For long term success we believe in focusing on all three aspects that make up what we call the Success Triangle…Attitude, Behavior and Technique.  Technique will only take you so far, you must bring the right attitude each day and that in turn will drive the commitment to the daily behaviors (or actions) that must be in place for success.  Additionally, virtually everyone has experienced getting excited about having gone to a training “event” and what they learned.  Unfortunately if there is not some sort of ongoing reinforcement component most will fall back into old habits in a VERY short period as if they had not been trained at all.  What we’ve learned over the years is that ongoing reinforcement is key to a significant AND lasting return on your training investment.
