Rate this Ad with Greg Callaham

Rate This Ad allows a billboard designer to rate a random piece of billboard artwork using the following scale: 1 (not good), 2 (below average), 3 (average), 4 (very good), 5 (great). Then the designer talks about what they may have done differently for outdoor advertising. This week’s rating is provided by Greg Callaham (www.gregcallaham.com) who has 30 years of experience in outdoor advertising design.  Insider has used and endorses Callaham’s services.

Fear Farm

Rating: 4 (very good)

  • A visual that grabs the target audience by the retinas is always an excellent place to start with an effective outdoor ad. This one nails that to the side of the Fear Farm barn.
  • Good contrast (not great) and decorative fonts (not overly so) do a very good job of conveying the message and the theme.
  • The arrow makes the directional easy and the white text makes it even easier.
  • This ad earns a 4 (very good).
