PlainView LED Completes CHI Memorial Stadium Jumbotron

Scoreboard Is Largest in Chattanooga Region

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.— Chattanooga’s first professional soccer specific stadium is now home to a PlainView LED Stadium Series scoreboard. Installation for the jumbotron and other customized digital products at CHI Memorial Stadium wrapped June 14.

At more than 2,000-square feet, the scoreboard is the largest in Chattanooga and one of the largest in Tennessee. It rises more than four stories from the ground and the screen is an impressive 34-by-61 feet. The jumbotron will bring an unparalleled experience for those attending soccer games, concerts, and other events at CHI Memorial Stadium. Fans experienced the new jumbotron for the first time during the Chattanooga Red Wolves home game on June 20 against North Carolina FC.

PlainView LED and the Chattanooga Red Wolves share a passion for the sports arena and fan engagement, making their relationship an ideal fit.

“To partner with and be treated like a family member of a professional sports organization is a wonderful experience,” said Derek Markey, PlainView LED’s COO. “The Red Wolves ownership group is making a huge monetary investment in CHI Memorial Stadium for Greater Chattanooga. This stadium will create magical moments and long-lasting memories for generations of Red Wolves fans and entertainment lovers.”

In addition to using digital products from PlainView LED, which is headquartered in Chattanooga, the Red Wolves worked with other businesses in their area. The scoreboard’s structure was designed and manufactured by Selective Structures, LLC in Athens, Tennessee and the structure and scoreboard were installed by Southern Advertising & Sign in Chattanooga.

“CHI Memorial Stadium is the first professional soccer stadium in Tennessee that we have added to our portfolio, which has been amazing,” Markey said. “The Red Wolves brought the action and PlainView LED brought the 1.5 million awe-inspiring lights for the fans!”

The 16mm SMD screen offers vibrant colors and is capable of in-game scoring and statistics, live video feeds, instant replays, social media and HD broadcast quality. Additionally, the scoreboard can be used for concerts and other events like movie nights and video gamer events.

PlainView LED also supplied a 3-by-245 feet long 10mm SMD digital banner to be used for advertisements, scoring, and videos. The jumbotron and ribbon banner bring a combined 1.5 million LEDs to the stadium.

“Enhancing the customer experience with a state of the art LED video board is exactly what was intended when they broke ground on CHI Memorial Stadium just a short while ago,” said Chattanooga Red Wolves president, Sean McDaniel. “CHI Memorial Stadium continues going into the highest levels of the sports entertainment environment by showcasing professional soccer to the country and the addition of this jumbotron asset fits our master plan perfectly.”

CHI Memorial Stadium opened its doors in the summer of 2020. During their opening year, PlainView LED provided temporary scoring solutions for all soccer matches held at CHI Memorial Stadium.
