Jack Myers Projects 10-15% Yearly OOH Growth for Next Decade

OAAA President Anna Bager interviewed Media Village Founder Jack Myers yesterday as part of the OAAA lunchbreak series.  Here are some of Myer’s comments.

Myers is bullish on out of home.

“What appears to be the one constant in our economy right now is advertising industry growth…Out of home recovered more quickly than many believed.  The industry responded with a tremendous amount of agility in identifying where audiences are and how to reach them.  Today we see heavier traffic than ever in most cities and we’re seeing a very resilient out of home market…We’re forecasting 22% growth this year for out of home… and then a sustained 10-15% growth for out of home…over the next decade.”

Programmatic may not be best for premium locations.

“More and more inventory is being purchased on a transactional basis…while you have no choice to be in the programmatic space those dollars tend to be commoditized which makes it important to identify your product which is premium and can be taken out and sold differently.”

On the Metaverse

“In gaming and AR there will be billboards.  That is an out of home medium…there is a big opportunity there…when you’re in the metaverse you’re in real estate…a number of the games, driving games or Fortnite, you’re surrounded by a world…those worlds have the potential for advertising…the TV networks are looking at it…”
